part of a screenplay by my CREATIVEE friend ethan robertz and his friend.

INT. APARTMENT. NIGHT.
Inside we see Leonard standing in front of a microwave
staring at his ready meal revolving around and around. Later
we see that Leonard has fallen asleep in front of the TV on
the sofa with a thin blanket, the room is mostly dark apart
from the flickering of the TV light.
We see his eyes crack open suddenly and his belly rumbles.
Leonard gets up and begins to pull open every cupboard in
his kitchen looking for food. With a dissatisfied
expression on his face he stops and takes a moment to think.
He grabs his key and the door slams shut as he goes to the
supermarket.

INT. SUPERMARKET. NIGHT.
Leonard walks around the store without thinking, just
glancing at different foods, scanning the shelves
frantically. He has a blank, yet desperate expression on his
face. Leonard takes a sidelong glance at a product down an
aisle, we can’t see what it is, and almost walks past it,
but then stops and turns to face it. We see him staring at a
head height shelf full of tinned dog food. Leonard opens and
closes his mouth quickly making a small smacking noise. From
out of nowhere noise begins to build around Leonard as he
stares at the label, it reads CHUMS SMART PRICE dog food. He
is consumed by an inexplicable hunger, yet continues to
stare into the label as noise builds, resonating throughout
the store, becoming almost unbearable until Leonard snatches
a single tin from the shelf. At the counter the assistant
looks at Leonard as she scans the tin, he makes an awkward,
desperate face and turns to leave quickly with the tin,
staring at it in his hands.

INT. APARTMENT. NIGHT.
Leonard is sitting at his table with the dog food squarely
in front of him, a single light is on above him which shines
light around him and the tin. We see the tin in the
foreground, Leonard’s face partially obscured by it. Leonard
reaches for the tin, almost hesitating to open it. We hear
the crack of the tin open. A spoon digs into brown mess. The
spoon hovers in front of Leonard’s face. We see the struggle
in his eyes as he contemplates eating. But, then we see his
hunger build and he puts the spoon in his mouth. He greedily
wolfs down the rest of the tin in no time, not stopping to
wipe the meat off his chin. After his binge he sits back,
covered in chunks of meat with a look of absolute bliss on
his face.
All of a sudden, the noise returns as Leonard wretches in
pain, clutching his stomach, screaming in agony.
